SAM - PDM Data Exchange with CATIA

SAM - PDM Data Exchange with CATIA

The STEP Assembly Manager (SAM) is used by development partners of the companies Daimler and Renault.
T-Systems’ STEP Assembly Manager offers these development partners a solution for exchanging hierarchical assembly structures. With SAM, CATIA data and product structures can be exchanged simply, based on the STEP standard format.
STEP interfaces have been purpose-built for the PDM systems Smaragd (Daimler), GDG and VPM (Renault), so that data from the respective PDM system can be exchanged with development partners in a standardized format. However, it is not for this reason alone that many suppliers plan to introduce a PDM system. For these development partners, SAM is the ideal solution because only the CATIA CAD system is required.
